We’ve built a few things out of necessity since starting this project. One of the most used is our dirt sifter.
We’ve gone through a few versions trying to seperate all the rock from the dirt, but so far this seems to be the best one, especially since we can use the tractor to put the dirt and rock mix in. Have I mentioned how much I love the tractor?
Using old scaffolding and other metal we picked up from the dump we made something that first seperates the larger rocks from the dirt, then we add a smaller grate to filter out the smaller rocks.
We have a lot of plans for all the rock, as I’ve previously mentioned, and the dirt will be easier to use with all the rocks removed. Right now know, this simply means a lot of moving dirt and rock from one pile to another.
