Hello, dear readers! We owe you an apology for the delay in updating you on our home renovation journey. It’s been a whirlwind of activities and transformations since the beginning of November, and we’re excited to share the progress with you.

One of the major accomplishments during this period was the installation of a false floor in the great room, extending all the way up to the high ceiling. This was the most efficient way of drywalling up there and installing the potlights.

In the master bedroom, the drywalling is complete, marking a significant milestone. Although there’s still some work to be done with mud and paint, the room is taking shape beautifully. Similarly, our daughter’s room has undergone a complete transformation with finished drywall, mud, and her chosen paint. The exciting phases of painting and flooring are just around the corner.

The laundry room has seen a remarkable transformation as well. Drywalled, painted, and floored, it’s almost ready to welcome back on-site laundry. The convenience of having laundry facilities at home is something we’ve missed, and its return is eagerly anticipated.

Between the spare rooms, a half bath has been completed, (except for doors, which are coming) providing a fully functional bathroom within the house. It’s a small yet crucial step towards making our living space fully operational.

The pantry area has been a focus of recent efforts. Drywalled, mudded, and painted, it’s become more than just a storage space. Cupboards have been meticulously organized, and a countertop has been ordered to enhance both its functionality and aesthetics. Our current makeshift arrangement of preparing and eating food in the shop will soon be replaced by a compact, apartment-sized kitchen in the pantry.

On the electrical front, significant progress has been made. All breakers in the electrical panel have been successfully installed. Numerous outlets have been strategically placed, ensuring convenience and accessibility throughout the house. A few lights have been added, bringing warmth and brightness to our living spaces.
In terms of flooring, a major decision has been made. We’ve ordered flooring for the entire house, excluding the ensuite bath. This marks a crucial step toward completing the cohesive look and feel of our home.
Additionally, we’ve made a decision regarding the paint scheme. Except for our daughter’s room, which she has personalized to her liking, the entire house will be painted in one color for now. We’ve purchased the paint and are ready to add the final touch that ties everything together.
As we reflect on the past month, the numerous returns signify that we are indeed nearing the end of this renovation journey. Each completed task brings us closer to the vision we had for our home.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this hectic period. The support we’ve received from friends, family, and even the occasional passerby has kept our spirits high. Stay tuned as we approach the final stages of our home transformation. We can’t wait to share the completed picture with you all!
