Not a lot to say this week, but a fair amount to show. We’re just over one-quarter done shingling the roof.

As of now, we have one side of the large middle dormer shingled, the northeast dormer shingled, and everything in between all the way up. We also have the entire north deck shingled.

We are still wishing we had gone with a simpler roof that perhaps would’ve been done by now, but this is already looking fantastic and will look great when it’s finished.

He is using a fall arrest while up there, in case any of you are worried about his safety, and he keeps the rope so he can’t even fall off the edge, not so it will simply catch him. Even so, it’s more than a little nerve-wracking being up there.

Next week we will be working on getting the shingles up on the other half of the north side of the house. After that, we get to move on to the south side, by the lake. Unfortunately, due to how the property slopes toward the water the south half of the roof is even further off the ground, so that will be… fun.

Anyway, that’s all for now. Thank you very much for following along on our journey and for your patience as these blogs have been sporadic. We’re happy to share this process with you.
It must be so exciting to really visualize all your effort and planning. It’s fantastic Will and Carrie
