Hello everyone. Again, it’s been a while since my last update and I am sorry but as the title may have suggested there have been a few hiccups along the way of house building.

First, let’s get through what we have managed to get done since the last update. We built the roof over what will be our porch and got it sheeted and we got one of the four dormers framed. Not bad progress considering our help has dried up for the time being and the other issues we’ve faced since the last update.

And let’s continue with the good news. Part of the reason that help has dried up is that my bookkeeping business started doing well this month, with new clients and the fact that I have a lot of year-ends to get through. Not so good news, is that it’s been cold enough to make the water line freeze, so the little one and I have moved into the in-laws temporarily, so I’m not even around to help when not busy working.

The plan is to return after the March Break from school. We’ve switched schools for seven weeks (January 23 to March 10) where I’m dropping her off and picking her up every day as I didn’t want to also deal with the busses. Then everyone will be off for the break (March 13 – 17) and she’ll return back to her old school and we will have our regular routine back. We figure by then we shouldn’t have to worry about the water freezing anymore.

The second delay in getting work done is the fact that the first half of almost every day has been spent shoveling snow out of the house. Again, this is left completely to him as I’m not on site. It’s snowed quite a bit since the last time I wrote an update, and it’s probably going to continue to snow for at least the next several weeks. Also, it seems to be anytime it’s not snowing the wind is bad, and he’s not doing work up on the roof with high winds.

Thanks for following along and hopefully next time I’ll have more to report. As always follow our Facebook page for more updates.
