And now I really come to see, that life would be so much better, once you’re gone. (Lyrics from N’Sync’s Bye Bye Bye)

Demolition is basically complete. There is a little bit of the foundation left that we’re hoping can be broken up by the guy coming to take out the septic tank this coming week and dig some foundation. That’s the part of the foundation that we filled with concrete back when we thought we were keeping the house. See All Rotten on the Western Front and All Rotten on the Western Front part 2 for more information. We found the old septic tank buried under where previous owners had built the western addition. FUN TIMES!

We got a lot done over the weekend, with much-appreciated help on Saturday to get up all the floorboards, and a long day on Sunday to finish getting out the beams and pulling up all the work we just did less than four years ago.

We picked up the stone we put down when we renovated the western addition and put it into one of the trench that has been running through the backyard with a pipe. Soon we should be able to fill it in and stop needing a bridge to get to the fire pit and the water.

It’s exciting to have the house down and be able to move on to building the new one, even though we discovered the trailer has to be moved to another part of the property when we spray painted the outline of the new house. It came a little too close to where the trailer was sitting, which shows just how much bigger the new house is expected to be.
That’s about it for now. Check out our Facebook page for more pictures and, as always, thanks for being here with us. See you next week!
