The property begged for a dog, and now it has one!

This week started with us getting a new member of the family! We have said that this property needs a dog since the day we moved in, not to mention having the dog to walk will get us more social with the neighbourhood. This was good timing for us as the warm weather seems to be back to stay and with myself working, we have the income to afford the expenses associated with a puppy.

Her name is Coco, due mainly to her colouring. She is an Australian Shepard who was born at the beginning of February. We picked her up on Easter Monday, after deciding we liked her personality more than her sister, (although if we had the budget to do it we would have come home with both dogs!), as she seemed more playful and inquisitive.

This week has been full of mainly training the new puppy to stay close while outside and the standard things like sitting, lying down, and house breaking. We have already set up an agility course for her and she seems to take to that and really like it. The puppy and the child are already inseparable, which is good as she is in part the daughter’s responsibility.

She has already been in the water, having been in the water about ten minutes after we brought her home. We were hoping for a dog that would love the water and it looks like we got one. She was also very well behaved while meeting all the children at the school our daughter attends, and while playing with a larger dog today. We don’t think she’ll have any issues with socializing.

It has come with the challenges that a new puppy always does, but on a whole it’s been so rewarding having her as part of the family already.Hope you enjoyed this post about our newest member of the family. Thank you again to everyone who uses the links on the website for purchases they would make on Amazon anyway and , as always, thanks for reading!
