It’s Magic!

The bin and all its contents disappeared!

Obviously, it’s not really magic and it didn’t actually just disappear as we were home when they came and picked it up. In fact, we were still tossing in some last-minute items when they arrived. The bin was mostly full, but we reached a point where it wouldn’t be a bit deal to take what remained in the trailer to the dump ourselves. Also, we’ve already put all the insulation into bags and we rarely need the two bags maximum to throw out our regular household garbage. There is still some debris to pick up, but it’s nice not having the bin taking up so much space.

We have also decided to build crates out of the old floorboards since many of them came up decently. This will add to the siding and flooring our neighbours already took to reuse on their cottage. Given the price of wood right now, we don’t want to burn any that could serve another purpose. We will likely keep some of these crates to store things for the shop and will probably offer some to the neighbours as well.

The next big thing on the docket is to move the garage to be next to the shop, onto the foundation we built a while ago. We will need to remove the overhang on both buildings to complete this task which we will do with a skill saw and a reciprocating saw. This is so the two buildings can sit flush against each other and become a single building.

After that, it’s building the ice rink between the two locations to actually move the garage. Stay tuned for that, as I’m sure that will be fun. That is all for now.
