The end is in sight!

This week we had the building inspector come by for an insulation and plumbing rough-in inspection, which we passed. With the walls completely insulated, the western room is very easy to keep warm, so we are looking forward to having our kitchen and dining room finally moved over here.

We built a bulkhead on the western wall to run the electrical and plumbing venting. Today, we had to extend it a little bit as we didn’t quite make it long enough originally. We removed some sub-floor as we were going to tile the entire kitchen, but now we’ve decided to tile only near the outside door, and do laminate in the rest of the space.

With the inspection passed, we are able to put up the drywall, which is what we’ve been doing since the building inspector. Drywalling around the new propane stove was a bit of a challenge since it was already completely hooked-up, but only a minor one as the flex hose is plenty long enough.

As mentioned in the previous post, we needed to move the electrical panel onto a new half wall to make it easier to access. We built the half wall and got a new electrical panel given that the old one wasn’t big enough to meet our needs now. It is located just above the pump tank inside the door frame.

That is all for this week. It’s been a little slow as our daughter still has not gone to school for a full week. Hopefully the weather will cooperate soon. And, as always, thanks for reading!
